Sorry it took so long?!? I bet it was a coding nightmare, not to mention the doodle-y-dads of tracking if it was a themed pet! Any time it was finished, I would consider quick, considering I would have suffered full blown alopecia due to the stress of trying to code that! Amazingly awsome job! *All caps-locked* XD

Showing beyond 3 generations would be pretty much impossible in any type of efficient manner. So far, pets have as many as 19 generations (at least that's the most I've been able to find, could be more).

Each generation you have to multiply by two. So...

1st = 2 pets
2nd = 4 pets
3rd = 8 pets
4th = 16 pets
5th = 32 pets
6th = 64 pets
7th = 128 pets
8th = 256 pets
...

and so on. There's no way to display 500+ pets in an efficient way where it would make any sense. =P I honestly think it's easier to selectively go through the generations seeing them 3 at a time.

Half siblings is possible, but again, the whole clutter thing.

We decided to just give a short and sweet view of a pet's lineage with what we felt was the most desired information.

So, it will only show siblings if they have the same two parents?

Wondering because I have two offspring who have the same father but not the same mother and they don't show up as offspring.

Ok, I'm not a coder so I don't know how this works in your system, but on Dragon Caves, they simply show the whole thing. I've seen lineages go back 18 generations, and no one has mentioned any problem with it going further than that. Hard to see it, yes, and the lineages can get really complex as it goes further back like that, but it is all shown on that game. He has a completely different way of doing it of course *shrug*.

I don't know if you can see this without being a member, but here is what it looks like on Dragon Caves for one of my dragons there;

Notice it's sideways instead of up and down like yours, which I always thought was kind of weird but maybes it's easier the way he coded it? I don't know... but it obviously works for them.

As to the whole clutter issue, i get it. I actually kind of like the three generation view, just wish that I had a button to push to give me the WHOLE lineage tree. On Dragon Caves where I am most familiar with a system like this, the lineage tree has sparked a whole way of breeding to create patterns in the lineages. It's actually created a market for "caveborn" (caught) dragons, to specifically use in breeding. I think this would be a welcome addition to the game here, though I realize it's more difficult for you to show all the pets since each pet can be different color and gene wise, whereas on DC, the dragons only have one or sometimes two avatars, so the whole lineage art is I assume easier to generate. For that matter, I'd be happy with a complete lineage tree that had just names, no images... would that be any easier? Clickable links would be nice too of course, lol...

And really, I'm not trying to be difficult, just saying its a function I would love to see. If it doesn't work in your system, I'll happily learn to live with it, lol. Each game is different, and I certainly wouldn't be playing it if I didn't enjoy it so much. Thanks for all your hard work! This really is a great feature as is! I will definitely use it lots.
