Halloween is my favorite holiday! I just had to join in :)

Where did you get the jack O' Lantern staff? :o Is it festival item?

Gah! I -love- Halloween too. It's also my favorite holiday. (My house has been decorated since the last week of August and.. I have a problem buying pumpkins. So far, I have 14 large pumpkins in my tiny yard, and still with plans to get a few (or 10) more *sigh*) >.<

The Jack O'Lantern Staff I won in Donmino's 1 year contest held shortly after I joined. So.. I have no idea, but I guess so? Really anxious to see October's items!

My pets and I shall take the broken window route. Violet scoffs at the possible danger as the rest of us carefully climb in after her. Ping please. :)

ROUND TWO! CLOSED!

Willowivy, Aaronampora, Mikazukichan, Candyprincess, Barcode454, Scarlettkitsune, Firepepper, Ivodince, Jadelion, and Evieseriously all stand around the closed, unbroken window. One at a time, everyone tries to pry it open. It creaks and groans but will not rise more than a few inches. Then, all of a sudden"ACHOO!" goes a sylesti. Everyone looks disgusted as they see the window covered in sylesti snot. But one brave soul gives a good tug and the window flies open! One by one everybody files into the dark, dank room and tries to let their eyes adjust to their new surroundings.

Mewzzer, Wonderfulb2uty, Aly, Gingerpaw, Keanai, Fang, Masterofdragons, Sessi, Pets101creator202, and Britters are wondering if someone should knock after standing at the front door for seemingly several hours. Suddenly, the door lets out a loud groan and slowly creaks open. The group at the door all look at each other, uneasily. Everyone's thought was the same: "..Should have picked a window.." While shoving each other towards the barely open door, someone authoritative shouts, "Hey, that's rule #3: No pushing someone to their doom!" So the most courageous of the front door group slowly enters the dark, dark room. No screams are heard, and so the others follow.

Nightstarre, Winter, Entropy, Donmino, Castielle, Nyoka, Psalmreader121, Tierrana, Okapilover7, Cuddly21223, Velyanthe, Nightbanewolf, and Moonki spy the broken window. These few decide that this must be a better entrance. It has probably been used before, anyways. One after another they examine the broken glass in an attempt to see how not to get cut. After several hours, someone's fed-up and impatient sylesti donkey-kicks the remainder of the shards in the window, with a loud snort of smug satisfaction at being so clever. One by one, everybody scrambles over the windowsill and into this mildew smelling and haunted new adventure of fun and fear.


As everyone's eyes adjust to the darkness, people start looking around. It seems crowded. In fact, everyone is in the same room!
"Four days of debating how to enter and it was for nothing?!" someone scoffs.
"Well be grateful! You could have waited four days and then fell into a pit instead," someone else replies curtly.
Everyone seems a bit edgy, feeling as though maybe this haunted house is not so scary or daunting, after all. A cool, chill breeze gently descends upon the currently unharmed group standing in the large foyer, causing shudders to race around the room. Strange, hushed whispers can almost be heard from inside the walls of the old sentinel house. A dim light is barely enough for the group to see the large room.


Ahead is a staircase. It is large, grand, creaky, and creepy. The details are covered in webs and other unknown bits, but it still holds a glimmer of its former beauty.

Looking to the left there is a door. Unassuming and regular looking as any door. Well, as any door that was this old in this creepy of a place.

To the right of the room is another door. Almost regular looking, but it is ajar. A slightly open door is nothing to fear.. ..Right?

Which path do you choose? You have until October 3rd to decide!

Second set of pings.

Mika and her sylesties looked around at the large group of adventurers all standing around trying to decide what to do now. "Well....." She looked down at her lead zolnixi, Calianta, who tilted her own head in reply. Seemed the lovely nixi had no idea what should be done either. "I think.... we're going to head up the stairs." All three sylesties with her glanced at the two doors, then up the stairs, and wagged their tails. It seemed they were happy with this decision as well.

I crept forward slowly, glancing around at everyone else. My sylesti hovered nearby me; Millenia was wrapped around my neck, Seralina had her sinouous body pressed against my legs and Maximillian stood nearby, glancing between me and the door. All three of them did not want to be there... I honestly didn't blame them.

I shot a glance at the closed door. There could be anything behind it. We had no clue. It could be something that could kill my sylestis... or me. Same with the open door - why on earth would you trust an open door? Open doors means someone has been there before... like a broken window. That left only one option, and that was the cobwebby creaky staircase. Ew. I edged towards it, signalling my loyal companions to follow. I pulled out the torch I had at ready, lighting it with a small whisper to my sylesti. There, light. And with that light, I scooted forward. A centimeter. Then another. And another.
