"How did your mother know who lived at the ruins? Were there bodies or skeletons there?" She asked. While she didn't care much for it, she was still slightly worried that Nila's mother had once been to the ruins of what was once Nethimir's castle.

"Yeah. That and dad is good at finding stuff from the societies. Y'know, art and writing and stuff. Usually that's how they figure out how that society worked."

"Interesting." She was, in fact, not interested at all.

"Yeah. They found actual art of the other two. Just not the super old one."

"Huh. What were they like?" She decided to ask, not bothering to get back up and go over to the book, since that image she saw reminded her too much of her castle.

"Well, mom's been studying the newer spiky ones, so I know more about them. She found out pretty recently their name probably started with an 'f'. They were also super big- mom's found bodies that were 7, sometimes even 8 feet tall."



That... somewhat rings a bell. The feathercrests were big and spiky, and she hasn't seen any in quite a long time.

"Isn't that a Feathercrest?" Nethimir commented, looking down at the rock that she - once again - forgot she was holding.

"A what?" Nila gives her a confused look.

"Pretty much what you described. I didn't know they went extinct, though." Nethimir rolled her eyes, slightly surprised Nila didn't know what a Feathercrest was.

"Yeah. I think this is mom's third time going there? Said she found some cool tunnels under the city."



That tracks. The tunnels were supposed to be for avoiding danger, from what they'd told her. Though, clearly, that must not have worked out for them.
