He sighed. "I'm not going anywhere tonight," he promised, and swept a hand toward a far wall. "There's a trunk with blankets and supplies in that corner. Make yourselves comfortable. I think we're all going to be spending the night here."

The trunk held several quilts, a few canteens, a quiver of arrows, and a bottle of dark wine that was unrecognizable. Puck went hunting for firewood and came back with an armful, plus a branch bearing strange blue fruits he swore were safe to eat.

Lise definitely didn't touch his strange fruits.

She sits down. She takes two blankets, even though she's still got a massive fever.

He cleared away flowers to make the campfire. They were quite beautiful, the petals so thin and delicate they were almost transparent.

"You two are awfully quiet," Puck said as he arranged the firewood into a tepee. "In fact, you haven't said a word since his royal iciness left. Whats wrong?"

"Nothing. I just don't feel well." Isiea shrugs.

" Isiea is basically dying, and im not up for conversation. " she stared at the flowers.

Well, at least it kept Puck from asking too many hard questions.

For a little while, anyway. "So, Isiea," he began, once a cheerful fire crackled in the center of the room. "It seems princess and I missed a lot since we've been gone. Tell us everything."

She looked over at Isiea.

She brushes the hair out of her face, and opens her left eye.


Instead of the normal green eye, there's an awful hole. Her eye is half-gone, the remnants of the green iris staring blindly off to one side.

Puck had no idea what to say to that
