*good enough for me,* he shrugged before letting out a guttural yell and stabbing the Strix right into the eye, cutting through his skull and into his brain.

The strix screams, the weapon burning through his body. His veins are illuminated underneath his skin and feathers, before the light gets blindingly bright. This is soon followed by a burst of energy, tossing the boy away from the bird.

The strix is gone. In place of it is an older man (probably in his 40's) who doesn't look any more friendly than the bird. The man has a massive, smoking stab wound in the exact same place as where the strix had been struck.
