A few minutes later, two short bursts of the siren sounded and the crowd inside the canteen started to swell. The inmates were all hovering around the canteen but there was no queue--not that one was to be expected in a place like this. It was more like vultures picking at a corpse. The strong ones got priority, barging past everyone else to be served first. Victoria wasn't sure whether it was a relief or a shock to see Jack plow his way to the front, the smaller kids backing away from him and hovering on the outside of the throng. But even he stood to one side to let the Skulls through, never taking his eyes off them as they snatched their food and walked away.

Rhia watches silently. She's already at the front of the line, as she and Elzay came here about 5 minutes ago.

Nicote slipped by and managed to grab a decent amount. Lio piggybacked on the fact that Nicote was slightly more safe from the Skull Gang then Cole was.

Cole just....half-plowed, half-hid. It was an odd ocmbo but so far it'd worked out for him.

Aaron stood up. She walked toward the growing crowd. She managed to push through with little resistance, collect her food, and sit down. She hated this part. The need to push through people simply for a meal was frustrating. She slow began eating. The bland food had little effect on her. It was nutrition. That was it.

Rhia turns to Elzay, giving her a qustioning look.

She just shrugs.

She takes a bite out of the food. The expression she makes is pretty obviously not one that's pleased.
