There's sketches of ruins. Though, one of the sketches depicts something that seems... uncomfortably like octalia architecture. There's no way to tell if it's actually a sketch of ruins from her home, but they definitely look like they could be.

She then sighed with discontent, closing the book. Apparently she couldn't get away from reminders of her past. She swam back over to the wall, sliding down.

Nila glances at her. "You okay?"

She rolled her eyes, glaring at nothing in particular. "I'm fine."

"What, was there like a dead body in there or something?"

"More like a dead castle colony." Nethimir said, then immediately regretted saying, because she knew Nila was bound to start asking questions she did not want to answer.

"Oh. Yeah, mom and dad like to visit those." She thinks for a moment. "There's three of 'em in there, I think. There's the weird spiky guys, the glowy-head guys, and the other weird spiky guys."


None of those exactly sound like octalia.

"Well that's a helpful description." She scoffed, swirling some of her magic through the air, though Nila saying that slightly relieved her.

"Mom didn't wanna give any of 'em names. Since they probably had actual names and there probably are sources somewhere to find out what those were." She shrugs. "Though probably not the smaller spiky guys. Their ruins were super old when mom found 'em. Like, centuries old at least. I sorta doubt any living mer knows what those guys were called."
