Rookie glanced at his passengers and turned on his communicator. "Everyone cozy?"
Sonic tapped his communicator as well. "Yep! The weather was good, so it's a perfect day for flying!"
Rookie nodded, starting up the jet. The engine roared to life. "Woah-ho-ho! This beauty purrs like a lion cub!" Rookie shouted gleefully over the noise.

"So uh... Rouge? We almost there?" Rookie asked. "What does Angel Island look like?"
"Its a hunk of rock in the sky. You can't miss it," Sonic interuppted. "Actually, it's come to think of it, it's shrouded by clouds, so it might be slightly easy to miss,"
"Well, here's launch base, or what's left of it, anyway." Knuckles said with a sigh when he and Shadow arrived. The old steel towers overlooking the runway were overgrown with vines, and the runway itself was in pretty poor shape. The main watch tower looked like it had burned down at some point.... but there was a sort of exotic and thrilling air to the place as nature clashed with outdated Eggman tech. "I tired bringing it down a long time ago, but I couldn't do anything about the runway, and the towers are overly huge," he said, delfty kicking a pebble.
