Theon frowned, he could tell by the sound of her voice that she was lying. He reached out and grabbed her hand. "You can tell me what it is, its okay." he hoped he wasn't being too forceful but still, it wasn't good to leave things unsaid especially for people in their particular situation.

Ase~
Dang it! "Theon I really like you okay. I know we just met but I feel like I know you, like I can relate. We have so much in common I just feel that it was meant to be. Call me crazy but it's true. I-I think I could spend the rest of my days with you." She said quickly and suddenly. She held nothing back it was just the honest truth.

~Theon~
Theon was completely shocked, that was the last thing he had expected her to say and yet...
He couldn't speak, he felt weak and lightheaded. What the hell was going on! And why had his first impulse been to say yes? This was insane, he barely knew this woman and here she had basically just proposed to him!

He felt Ase's hand tighten around his and was drawn out of his confused thoughts. This was insane...
"Okay..."
His voice was barely more than a whisper as he raised his face to meet hers so that, had he been able to see he would have been looking her right in the eyes.

The young female zolnixi lay down panting in the heat of the sun. She lay there waiting for her mother to return from hunting.

Ase~
Okay? Okay?! Was that all he could managed to say? After she had spilled her guts that's all he could say? Well then she could see where she was wanted. "I-I have some things to do. I won't be back for the rest of the night alright?" She said standing not waiting for his answer as she gather her pack. "I'll be back before morning." With that she took off down the tunnel. She needed some time alone.

Maria~
That was sudden. And here to think that animals moved fast! She snorted as she stood and stretched in the light of the tunnel. Ase had just left the man to himself like that really? She must have been upset...about what? The human not wanting to be her mate? What was that about?

~Theon~
"Wait!" Theon shouted after her as she dashed out of the room. He tried to follow after her but nearly tripped in the unfamiliar room. He stumbled only to find himself caught once more by the female morkko. He had been so distracted that he hadn't even noticed she was there. "Sorry..." he straightened and turned to return to his bed. He pulled his shirt back on and sat down on the mattress only to feel the sheet of paper under his palm. He ran his hand over its surface again even though he had already memorized the image.
What had he done wrong? He said yes didn't he? Wasn't that enough?

Ase~
She stopped when she heard him call. Should she go back? Maybe it was better this way. No, she couldn't just leave. Carefully she turned and walked back though she said nothing as she did. If he had anything to say she wanted him to so so when he thought she wasn't there.

Maria~
She snorted at him and rubbed her face on his. He seemed sad in a way, maybe she could make him feel better until Ase returned.

Theon ran a hand through his hair and gently pushed the morkko away. "Thanks but, can I just... be alone right now..."

He felt defeated, a stupid useless cripple who couldn't even chase after her to tell her how he felt.
He couldn't even muster up the will to move anymore, he fell sideways onto the mattress and curled up into a ball. He couldn't even cry, it would be pointless anyway. She didn't really care... why had he shared so much of himself with this stranger? For all he knew she could have gone off to turn him in to those bounty hunters.
He didn't care... why should he? He was a dead man either way...

Ase~
She had don't this to him...she had made him feel this way. With a light sigh as walked over to the bed and sat next to him reaching a hand out to stroke Maria. She liked the female morkko even if she was a bit annoying at times. Altair seemed to like her as well.

~Theon~
He didn't move, even as he felt Ase sit on the bed next to him. What was the point?
He wondered whether it was even her that had caused him to feel this way. Day after day, running from bounty hunters and killing trappers. Why did he even bother? It had been years since anyone really cared about him, and even that had turned out to be a lie...
