She slid down on the wall, trying not to think about her past and her colony.

Out of the corner of her eye, she sees something vaguely interesting. It's some sort of notebook thing, and it's clearly quite full.

She looked over at the notebook, curious.

Nila notices her looking. "That's mom's. You can look through it if you want- I dunno if you'd find it interesting, though."

"What's in it?" She asked. It was probably good for her to take her mind off the previous subject.

"Sketches and notes on places and peoples they've visited. Ruins, mostly, and speculations on the peoples who lived there before their collapses."

"Sounds interesting to me." Nethimir got back up, swimming over to the notebook.

It's small, not much bigger than her hand, but it's thickly packed with pages. Visibly, a lot of pages have been added in, many of which aren't the same size as the notebook's paper.

She opened the book and flipped through a few pages, landing on a random one.

It's a sketch of a mer skeleton, drawn to show the full anatomy. There's also written speculations about various curiosities about the skeleton, making guesses about what the differences may have been for. On another part of the page is a less detailed sketch of what seems to be a speculative recreation of what the depicted mer may have been, though even if Nila's mother is completely correct, it's not a type of mer Neth's ever seen before, though they somewhat look like a cross between a jellyla and a feathercrest.
