Black eyes. My entire body tensed, I felt my heart beat painfully in my chest and the intense instinct to run away and scream kicked in inside me, but my body decided to freeze in fear instead of acting. I was feeling so many emotions that I was afraid I was going to pass out right here.
Until the moment he finally approached me my legs decided to obey instinct and run away, but I only managed to turn around when he dragged me into the bathroom, a gasp came out of my mouth at the same time as the door closed behind him.

I am trapped.

I didn't know what to do, I couldn't process what was happening. It was hard for me to breathe. All I felt was my arm freezing under the icy sensation of something slimy slipping on my skin, right where his tight grip was holding me. I couldn't tear my gaze away from his, fearing that if I made the slightest move it would all end for me right here. Why did I get into this? My God, someone, please, I don't want to die.

I felt tears pool in my eyes when he finally released me. I didn't hesitate for a second before throwing myself backwards, creating distance between us and almost falling between something wet on the ground and my own feet. I managed to hold onto the sink with both hands, fearing that my legs would lose the strength to stand before looking at him.
He looked uncomfortable, like he didn't know what to do. The only way out I knew behind him - and I couldn't see myself managing to dodge his body, open the door, and run before he catches me -. Oh man, I have no escape.

"Are you going to eat me?" It was the idea that revolved the most in my mind. I know it was a childish thought, but I couldn't think of anything else.

The old lady smile kindly and shook her head at your question. "No nead, everything is quite alright for me, i wont bother any longer surely your friend is waiting for you." The mention of anything strange seemed to amuse her. " If you are interessed into the legends of the floor, i woudnt mind telling you more about them, it's an old building, woudnt be too surprise if there was a few ghost still living here." With a friendly wave and a slight glance toward your door, she started to walk back to her appartment.

Once the lady was out of sight, you were left to your own thoughs in the hallway. Of course you had the background noise of daily activities happening in the building, muffled discutions and even some music echoed softly from various doors. The fact remained that, somhow, someone or somthing had enter your appartment without making any noises at all and if it wasnt for this incident you may not have ever known about it.

Seeing the older lady leave, Emilie gave her a small wave and a friendly smile. "I might have to take you up on that offer later. Have a good day," she called.

Once she had left, she turned her attention back to incident at hand. She knew she hadn't given anyone the keys to her apartment. That alone gave her a reason to alert the police, but she'd figured that she'd conduct a little investigation first. There was more than one way to get keys to someone's place legally after all, and while she didn't exactly believe in magic, the appearance of someone who looked like the previously dead tenant so soon after she saw the 'Necroshifter' was rousing her curiosity. Still, even if she did knew how to handle herself, the investigator had seen more than enough to conduct her investigation carefully in the event that it was someone with bad intentions.

Thinking back to what her neighbor had said, the brunette made her way to the bathroom with the intention of asking the intruder why he had her keys when he emerged.

The stranger seemed to panic even more as you back away, raising his hands in an attempt to look less threatening. Doing so however exposed several tiny yet very bright green scales on the side of his right hand, somwhat reminding you of small pieces of polished glass. Once more he muttered somthing, this time, in the closed space of the bathroom you managed to hear the words 'why' and 'her' somwhere in what he was saying, tho you coudnt catch anything else.

Your question seemed to visibly bother him as an expression of disgust flashed across his face as he backed of a little bit. For what seemed like an eternity he remained silent before he finaly attempted to say somthing. "Y-yea, i dont know what to say to that, no we dont *sigh* we dont DO that. Listen, i freaked out ok, you were not suposed to be there ! I should have sensed you comming."

In itself, the short walk from your door to the bathroom was rather uneventfull. The owner of the building had still took it's time to decorate the otherwhise bland hallway with a few generic painting of various senaries. A lonely potted plant was sitting near the wall between a child like illustration of a meddow and a life like representation of a snowy montain, sole survivor of the last attempt to bring a bit of life in this place tho the lack of proper sunlight had started to affect it too. As ever, the thick carpet was muffling any sound your feets could make, making your investigation toward the bathroom silent to any nosey neighbourgs.

Once arived to your destination, you were surprised to see that the door was open. An unnown man, about your age, was precariously sitting at the window, back to you, both legs hanging outside as he leaned a bit against the frame. From what you could see he was wearing a white t-shirt and a set of baggy pants, short blond hairs were swaying in the breeze as he stared down at the street bellow.

The object felt cold and slightly slimy between your fingers, it somhow reminded you of the feeling you would get from holding an handfull of fish scales. Once you had the strange objects safely placed in your home and that you went back on the scene, you realised that it was about as mutch information the hall would give you. Luckly for you tho, the hall only had two exit one in each direction with only a minimal amount of branching path usable. If the creature was still around there were not alot of places they could have went too. Outside of others appartements, the choices were limited to that small communal room, used primarely by a few elderly residents, the bathroom and maby the janitor closet since the lock had been broken a few months ago.

I was relieved to know that he could talk and was not some kind of alien looking to eat my brain. Too many horror movies, Annie, I thought to myself.
But that didn't take away the fact that everything about him was weird: his eyes, that strange slimy green liquid, scales on his skin and ... "Did you just... did you just say 'we'?" I put a hand on my head, processing the information that he blurted out. They do not eat humans - I want to believe -, sense that I coming? - Is it some kind of skill? -, there are more like him. There are more like him.
So many emotions experienced at the same time began to take their toll on me, I felt my head spin. "I think I'm going to throw up" I managed to say in a low voice, turning around and ducking my head, holding the bile that rose up my throat. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to control the nausea.

For a moment, the lights of the room flickered almost into a wave as you asked about what he had said. " In the large sense yes. Not my fault if your language dont do differences betwen we meaning speacie and we meaning group." For some raison he seemed to go alot more defencive now, almost as if he was the one trapt in the situation.

He made some kind of sound, somwhat similar to the chirp of a bird but also almost mechanical in some ways as you turned around. "Yea, no, let's not ... Oh, i know, i'll just cut your gag reflex, that should stop it... right ? It's just signals, i can block that..." From the tone of his voice alone, you could tell that he had no idea what he was doing there and was trying things blindly.

(Nice imagery! Feel bad for not responding to it lol ._. Maybe on the way back? )

Seeing the man silhouetted in the window, Emilie felt her brain kick into overdrive. Was he trying to off himself? A cautious breath in to discern if her was merely sneaking a cigarette was followed by her taking a small step closer while she prepared to catch the man if he slipped.

The city looks pretty nice right about now, eh? she asked, doing her best to gauge his reaction. Hopefully he didnt get startled into jumping. Sorry for intruding on your businessthe door was open.

(You'll have plenty of chances to interact with the place overtime, dont wory ^-^)

In the bathroom, you caugh the sent of various shampoo, bodywash, soap and cleaning agents. No smoke or nicotine smell could be identify as far as you could tell, beside, the position in witch the man was sitting would not have been a confortable or practical compromise to smoke without leaving the floor. Instead, he looked alot more caugh in his own thoughs then enjoying the moment with a nicotine stick somthing that was confirmed even ferther when you broke the silence, earning a soft squeek from the individual as his whole body stiffened.

He remained seated tho his posture was now straight as a board, avoiding any and all eye contact by keeping his head turned away from you. " Y-yes, i... sorry... i forgot ... didnt heard you come in..." His voice was partialy muffled by the way he was hiding from you and the strange accent lacing it did you no favor on understanding his words but it was clear that he wasnt expecting anyone to come by at this time.
