I crane my neck around the bend to make sure both of them were gone before taking out a shiny orb shaped entirely out of bones. I hold it over the wall and sweep it across, hearing tiny 'plinks' and 'clicks' as the dust flies onto the orb. I check there's no more diamond left before brushing the glimmering powder into a small pouch. Above, I hear a gong. Class is starting! I dash back through the tunnels into my cave and grab my stuff before heading out for Flying Class with Sunny.

"There's the gong! Flying class outside, wasn't it?" I look at Galaxy for a confirmation.

"Are you all the Emerald Winglet? Yes? Okay, good! I'm Sunny and I'll be your flying teacher for the year! Who wants to demonstrate how to lift off and land?" She scans through the group and finds Nova with her claw held high. "Hm, how about you," Sunny says, pointing at Nova.
Death
I sidle to the back of the group, wishing fervently that Sunny won't pick me next as Nova leaps into the air and does a perfect loop-the-loop. What'll they say when they realise I can't fly?
Nova
I land softly onto the ground, grinning at Galaxy. "Did you see that?" I say in a loud whisper. "I was awesome!"

"I'll go next" I say stepping forwards, I open my wings and lift off. Going as high up as possible I hurtle towards the ground, opening my wings at the last second I drift upwards before landing

I almost sigh out loud with relief. I wish it could rain so we didn't have to have flying class. I look hopefully at the bright blue sky.
