It depends. People are on different time zones, so you should probably make sure that everyone's time zones line up to a time where everyone can be available.

I think medieval era developing into industrial could be cool, especially because you can make up devices for different purposes that didn't exist back then.

I would think some time inbetween the medieval (castles and stuffs) to the modern era that would be funy a big masive castle and then some modern houses everywere

I personally say sci fi- it works with abilities but tests can also happen. It would be more like a dictatorship though.
