Knuckles growled and walked off again. His heart pounded in his ears, and the fur on the back of his neck stood on end.

Shadow knew that knuckles was most likely going to angel island......whatever.He stopped walking and just stood there.

Knuckles continued walking, unable to shake off the feeling he was being watched. Maybe it was because of the stories he had heard of bandits that often hunted down stragglers in times like these... He shook his head and dismissed the thought. That's ridiculous. I can fight them off easily.

Shadow almost let out a laugh......Knuckles old boy,you are getting a little rusty at this.He thought

After walking a little longer, feeling more paranoid by the footstep, he dicided to say something. If someone was there, they might answer. If not, it wouldn't matter bacause nobody would hear. "Come on out! I know you're there!" He shouted, turning swiftly on his heel.

"Finally" Shadow stepped out of the well shadows...."Your senses are getting rusty friend" he smiled

"Well, when all you smell is smoke and dust and all you hear is yelling and gunfire, that tends to happen." Knuckles replied gruffly, slightly annoyed at this hedgehog.

"You better fix it up...or you're gonna have a hard time guarding the Master Emerald...."

Knuckles folded his arms and nodded in agreement. "Tell me about it. I need to get out of this trainwreck... so, what do you want?"
