Cass growled. "I... don't want to talk about it." She whipped around, her tail lashing, and darted back into lush forest. What am I doing? Why do I even try? It's no use...

Starsight looked at her wings. " I'm sorry. I had no idea." she said, remembering when the older NightWings tried to take RainWings to experiment on them. " I thought they had stopped." she said, folding her wings slowly. She then heard Viva call to her. " Thanks, Viva. I guess I never knew what a friend was like." she said, turning back to the Rain/Ice hybrid. As she said that, the other dragon ran off into the forest.

"Well we can be sisters." Viva wraps a wing over top of Starsight, like how someone might put their arm around a friend's shoulders. "If you want to leave those mean old experimenters and come live with me instead. You'll probably get some hate at first, but they'll have to deal with you or else I will prank them so hard that they'll forget all of my previous pranks leading up to that moment." She chuckles evily, thinking about how funny it would be to take revenge on a bully.

Starsight chuckled nervously at Viva's current obsession of pranking. " Um, sure. I guess the rainforest is kind of cool." she said, quite uncomfortable about the fact that she might leave her home. It was a crappy home, but it was still home.

"Do you have any family in the Nightwing kingdom?" She asks, leading Starsight toward the humble tree hut that she shares with her mother.

Starsight followed Viva and shook her head. " They died in the war. I really don't like to talk about it." She said, curling her tail and pressing her wings closer to herself nervously. " No other NightWing cared about me. They thought I was weird because of my powers, and they made fun of me because of it." she said, her head drooping slightly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Viva tells her new friend, giving her the consoling puppy dog eyes. "Most of the Rainwings think i'm weird too, when they find out I can freeze things with my breath." She explains, "Well, we're here." She informs Starsight when they arrive at a giant tree with branches alligned suspiciously well to be able to climb up them. And at the top is a small hut covered in leafy branches.

" It's fine, not like they cared about me anyways." she said, her voice quieting, then her eyes widened at the sight of the tree hut. She lets out a breath of awe. "Wow." she breathed, staring at it. She blinks out of her trance as she notices Viva giving her a weird look. Starsight turned her head back to where they just were and turned back. " Okay, I can do this." she whispered to herself, then smiled at Viva.

"Ok, follow me," She tells Starsight, carefully climbing up the branches so that her wings don't get caught. When she reaches the top, she moves aside a large thatched piece of wood acting as a door out of the way and climbs inside the hut. "Hi mom," She greets her mother, a light green Rainwing with technicolor eyes, nuzzling her nose to her's, and then introduces her friend. "This is my new friend, Starsight. Can she live here?"

Starsight followed Viva up the tree and they climbed into the hut. She stopped as Viva introduced her to her mother. She tried to make a friendly face, and not look like a ferocious NightWing, but she wasn't sure it was working as the older RainWing gives her an angry look.

( Imagine making a new friend, walking up to your mother like: "Hi, mom. This is my new friend. Can she live here?" Not judging your writing, I just laughed when I read it. I would never imagine that to happen.)
