Bear had wandered of a little bit before you got there but Mala answers promptly "it went well, we didn't find any traces of an attacker or any other black soot. Whatever it was that attacked was not human either they found the black soot or it found them."
"Hm, strange. Good thing you didn't have any problems. Sleet and I found more of the soot but made a fence out of branches to hopefully keep people safe from there. I think everyone deserves a good rest and meal, let Bear know when he's back, I'm going to check in on how Wolf is." She nods as she leaves the others in search of where the injured Wolf may be.
