"I don't know." Marco said in full honesty.

She seemed to recover quickly, cheerful once again, "Is it a cool fun new place? Will I get a peppermint? Maybe? Or not..."

"no, it's not a cool place. But I guess if things don't go too bad maybe you can get a peppermint.' He said.

"Too bad? What you plan to do? Gut me," She said sarcastically, "I doubt you are."

He sat on the ground in front of her. "I mean, that's not a bad Idea, but you were nice to me so that's a no."

"Well be cheery is the best away to avoid making rivals! So what you going to try? Everyone else has failed! What makes you think I will talk," She asked.

He shrugged. "I don't think you will, but I have to try." He said, poking her leg gently.

"Have to try? Oh no, the end of the world," She said sarcastically as she watched him, "Is poking a method of torture?"

"no. But this is." He said, seeming calm and innocent as he reached both hands forward and quickly raked his nails over her skin harshly to draw blood. His nails were like little knives themselves and he smiled a bit.
