Kara mumbled something, and lifted her head. She realized how hungry she was, but seeing that the kits were suckling, she frowned. She reached out to a bone of the bulbori, and managed to drag the bulbori's corpse to her. She devoured a whole leg, then sighed and went back to sleep while her kits curled against her to keep warm.

Jura stumbled around, her sealed eyes not allowing her to see. She stumbled into someone, who hissed at her and nudged her away. She batted at who ever it was and curled around her mother.

Koi hissed at who ever stumbled into him. He nudged them away, and bared his tiny teeth as they batted at him. He lifted his head and crawled around blindly, then curled around the soft and warm heap of fur he knew as his mother.

By the time the vulynx had came he was already too late. The Ryori was torn and battered beyond repair. He gazed at the cat before completely giving up. At least Shadow and the kits were safe.
