I immediately hide the surprised look that flashes on my face and with a fake hurt look I say "Hey! just 'cause I've travelled on my own and haven't seen people for a year now doesn't mean I've lost my marbles" at the end the hurt look falls into a mischevious smile

I smile, even the small size discrepancy would be useful in this open wild. I think of how I could make a fishing rod, and if there are any ways I could get a bite. I pull out a blackberry and eat half, dropping in the other to see if the fish will eat it.

I grumble down to the fish, talking about how they should note food when they see it and such, and walk off in a sour mood. I turn and glare at them, then check the time with the sun.
