The horse thing was only a few feet away now, raising it's neck out of the water to expose a mouthful of needle like teeth. "Princess!" That was a familiar voice...Puck was leaning over the bank, offering his hand to her

She immediately grabs it.

He lifted her out of the water just as the horse monster lunged with a roar. Its wet, rubbery nose hit the bottom of her foot, jaws snapping with an evil snick. Puck hoisted her up over the edge of the bank and the horse thing sank below the surface once more.

She clings to him, dripping wet and her arms covered in mud.

"Are you all right?" He ran his hands up her arms to make sure she was still in one piece. "Are you in there, princess? What happened? Talk to me."

She's shivering with cold, and she simply whimpers and hugs him tighter.

He picks her up, carrying her bridal style down the trail. The only thing he said after that was: "Dont go off alone, princess. Under any circumstances, understand? In thus world you're viewed as either a plaything or a light snack. Don't forget that. And tell me when you can walk again, alright?" With the last sentence his voice softened. As they passed the knobby tree that they had slept in, Puck noticed the door was gone.

She simply whimpers again, shivering.

Puck held her closer, trying to warm her up. His heart was racing like he had just ran a mile. "Well," he said a little too cheerfully, "if you're done playing with will-o'-the-wisps and kelpies, I think we should continue. Oh, but do tell me the next time you want to have tea with an ogre. I'll be sure to being my club."

She laughs, mostly because of the fact she's still scared.
