Pepper nodded and walked towards the edge of the forest "true." She said looking at July

Alaska woke up and got to her hooves she flared her nostrils sniffing. Over the smell of smoke from the fire she could smell something. The smell was scaring her Alaska Neighed in fear and reared up kicking her front legs Camel where's July and Pepper! she neighed

'Somewhere, they didn't want us following remember? I'm sure their fine.' Camel snorted. 'Stop worrying.'

"But don't you smell that?" She neighed

Pepper walked out of the ring of trees "we're finally out of there." Pepper said releived wen all of the sudden the wing beats she heard got louder. Her heart hammered around "Run!" She yelled to July. Pepper began to run as she looked behind her. She saw multiple wings with angry looks big female heads glaring at her "Harpies!" She yelled

(For anyone who doesn't know a harpy is a half woman half bird thing that sings to make people fall asleep right before they eat them.)
They look something like this

July dropped his arm load of wood and took out his gun. "Get to the camp Pepper! I'll buy you some time!" He said shooting one of the harpies down. "Go I got this!"

"I'll come back for you." Pepper said then ran to Alaska who was already running towards her "good girl." She whispered then jumped on her back retrieving her whip. "Yah!" She yelled galloping back towards July "come on!" She yelled to July as she wrapped her whip around the neck of the closest Harpy and pulled it to the floor where Alaska then proceeded to step on it killing it instantly

"Pepper just get out of here!! It's too dangerous!" July yelled waving her away. "Go! Please I'll be fine just get to saftey!"

"I'm not leaving you!" She yelled. Pepper kicked Alaska and galloped over to July she leaned down and grabbed him by the arm desperately trying to pull him up as Alaska galloped away

July took her hand in his and forcefully pushed her away. "Get out of here now!" He yelled harshly in a tone he had never used before. "Go please!" He shouted slapping Alaska on the rump to make her run. "I promise I'll come back!"

Startled by the slap Alaska reared and sprinted away Pepper held on and looked back with a look of worry mixed with hurt. "Let's go girl we need to get the others she said riding to where they had set up camp she yelled up to the two native Americans "July's being attacked by Harpies!" She yelled waving for them to come "we need to hurry." She said her eyes desperate

July watched her leave and reloaded his gun. "Lord let her get out of this alright." He said shooting at the Harpies. Only one fell when he shot at them, causing him to panic. "This is the end...for once I found something that could out smart me...." Sinking to the ground he waited for the end, but only go the limp body of a harpy at his feet instead. A wet slimy tongue wiped across his face leaving him with slobber thickly caked on his face. The man looked up to find a large dog like creature standing face to face with him, blood covering his muzzle.

"You alright?" A voice asked as a hooded figure climbed down off of the dogs back. "You had it pretty close there."

Maggie looked up from the fire. "What?" She asked hearing Pepper say this.
