Luna then opened the door, and left the house wordlessly, dropping the key to the house on the ground. She walked around, numb.

Well, unfortunately for the dad, strixes still have their venom in their bird form. While not having the magic to turn people into strixes.

The owl takes flight again, biting the mother this time. It'd take a few minutes, but bites to the neck tended to knock humans out. Not always, but usually.
