Bones hummed. "Yeah, I chose it to spite my mother.", They giggled. "Yeah! See you around, Mort."
The blonde skipped back to their boxes, skidding to a stop when they noticed Ruby- their bird nearly falling off. "Oops, sorry, Bug Juice."
"Woah!", They gasped, walking over to the honey-colored girl, this time acting much calmer. "You're so cool looking- do you mind if I ask what your quirk is?"

As Bones walked past Bean watched them go with a small chirping noise, eyeing up Bug Juice but content with lazing around in Ruby's warm lap. The second they stopped though she hopped down and started rubbing against their legs purring.
Ruby glanced up with a completely dead expression as they made eye-contact. She really wasn't in the mood for social interaction anymore but she answered anyway,
"Thanks... It's living fire."

Bug Juice noticed the cat and glared, scooting closer to the crook of Bone's neck. He chortled, knowing they wouldn't let him get hurt.
Bones felt a little shut-down by her reaction, their chest tightening as anxiety of doing something wrong kicked in. But, they persevered and covered it up. "Oh wow! That's so cool!", They complimented. "I love how shiny it makes you, it's really pretty."
They pulled a smile. "Mine's Feral. Basically, I can turn into a horned monster that can grow to a little over twice my size. It helps when I feel a strong emotion, like rage or excitement. Things can get a little hazy if I go too much into it."

Ruby had absolutely no idea what to say in response to all the compliments. She was honestly more used to people before scared of her but... this person seemed to be going out of their way to say kind things and start conversation.
She blinked awkwardly a couple of times before lifting up her head with the most bamboozled expression, her skin having gone a deep embarrassed red as she stuttered awkwardly for something to say. Finally she her brain short-circuited a bit less and she stuttered out a,
"T-Thank you???"
She couldn't physically say it at the moment but she thought Bones' quirk sounded pretty cool.

Bones couldn't help but smile more genuinely, they winked. "No problem, you cutie.", They giggled, leaning back on their heels.
They weren't at all scared of her, they were seen as the scary one- well, at least back home in America, especially because they could often lose control of their quirk when using it.
"What's your name, by the way- I'm Bones." They offered their hand, not yet understanding if Ruby could burn them or not. "And your hair looks super fluffy-" They couldn't help but gush a little. "Wait, can you roast marshmallows with your quirk?"
They didn't mind not being complimented back, they could only guess that they accidentally broke her.

Ruby went an even darker scarlet at the 'cutie' remark and her entire body heated up to the point where it was kind of like touching a radiator but only just cold enough not to burn. She nodded at his name but shook her head quickly at the handshake due to fear that her flustered state would burn him.
Once they had finally stopped asking questions she shook her head to get into aright state to talk though it mostly came out as nonsense,
"Hi? I'm, Uh Ruby. Y-Your hair looks... fluffy and no. Never t-tried? Should I???"

Bones chuckled again at how flustered she was. They pulled back their hand. "Nice to meet you, Ruby, you're name is super nice.", They complimented. "Also, you should try roasting some, some time, it'd be cool."
*Jeeze, I didn't know I could make someone blush that hard.*, they thought, laughing to themself. They touched their own hair at the compliment, forgetting that the shagging mop covering their eyes was fluffy. "Oh!", they laughed. "I forgot that it was fluffy, honestly."

Ruby allowed herself to smile slightly at Bones at the name compliment but she was quickly distracted by the idea of roasting a marshmallow, staring down at her hands while thinking. It seemed like a good idea at first but she knew full well it would just probably melt and go sticky.
Her thoughts were soon broken by Bones touching their hair and she had to suppress an urge to reach out and touch the fluffy mop of hair.
