Classes--
Barbarian--a swole boi that can rage for extra power and has few if any magical qualities
Bard--a magician that uses instruments for magic, bards are thought to have started many if not all dnd half-human races
Cleric--can call upon gods for powers, servers of justice
Druid--animal magic, can turn into animals at much later levels
Fighter--like a barbarian, but more civilized and use fancier weapons
Monk--like a fighter, but even fancier weapons *if any it's been forever since I've played a monk* and can use magic at later levels
Paladin--call upon gods for supernatural powers
Ranger--self-trained experts of weaponry, use bows and swords 'n' stuff
Rogue--stealthy killers
Sorcerer--
-there's a kind that gets their magic through a bloodline, either a dragon ancestor or an ancestor cursed by a dragon. These kinds have light scales here and there and can grow wings later.
-there's another kind with wild magic, which is nearly uncontrollable and comes from nowhere. Sometimes, it can take a random effect
Warlock--they make pacts with supernatural beings in a quest for knowledge and power
Wizard--Masters of magic, you get 6 spells to start off and a couple cantrips, but not very weapon-oriented

Hehe, I usually go magic
But only because... Firebolt. It's a level 0 cantrip, so it cost nothing to use, and has potential for relatively decent damage ;w;
I liked using it on one of my party members on my last campaign, about a year ago >:3 the DM didn't like us very much....
