Renae shivered despite the blanket, "I want to stay over as well... And I don't really want to talk about it as well. I mean, think about how we were just having fun, and then boom, a dead body shows up, who knows what happened to them?"

*Honestly, Id rather not find out... did you see how part of it was shredded? That couldnt be an animal, an animal wouldnt just maim something and leave it, it would* Oliver shuddered. *An Animal would eat it, and those were no animal wounds* Oliver said. His dad was a vet and his mom was a Doctor at a nearby hospital, so hes seen a great deal of bad injuries... it never really got easier for him though, especially something like that in person.

*Guys, Ben said hes here, we gotta walk down the road a bit though* Barry looked at his phone, sending a few texts. *Lets get out of here* Barry said.

The group got heir bikes and began heading down the road. Bens car was in sight when loud banging sounds started being heard, causing a flock of birds to take to the sky away from the noise.

*Guys... those are gunshots* Tess gasped, Barrys expression was both stern and conflicted. On one hand, his mom was back there and he wanted to help, but in the other hand, he was an unarmed kid and he didnt want to get involved with a situation he might be interfering with. He knew which one he had to do as he saw Ben jump out of the car and run towards them.

*Coke on guys, go! Hurry up!* Barrys step brother shouted, urging them to hurry and get their bikes in the bed of the truck.

"Well, what animal would take off that person's fingers?" , Dahlia said, crossing her arms. She had watched documentaries on carnivorous animals for projects for a few years now. So she was pretty edgucated on the matter.

She sighed when she heard that they had to walk some more. Dahlia looked back to where the body was found. That just showed that any second life could turn dreadful. She was snapped out of her thoughts by gunshots. When she saw Barry's worried face she put a hand on his arm. "It's going to be alright." , She whispered, a reassuring look on her face.

When Ben called to them, Dahlia jumped, grabbing her bike, rushing into action. She slid in next to Tess, heaving a deep sigh.

Renae didn't waste any time and hurriedly stowed her bike in the back, jumping into the truck. "What could they be shooting? The dead person? Someone coming to check if the person was dead? No animal would have done that, that's for sure."

Barry gave a weak smile at Dahlia, his face pale with worry and fear. *Thanks Dahl, Im sure youre right* he sighed, looking back at the direction of the crime scene, which was out of view at this point.

Barry helped everyone lift their bikes into the bed of the truck since he was clearly the strongest and tallest of the group while Ben hopped back in his truck and prepared to drive away as shots were still being fired.

Barry and Oliver sat up front with Ben, and Tess day in the middle of the back seats.

*Who knows what theyre shooting, it doesnt matter, I just gotta get you kids out of here* Ben responded to Renaes question, turning around and heading back into town quite dangerously as he rushed to get away.

*Maybe the perp came back and pulled a gun* Oliver suggested, staring out the window.

*Maybe we shouldnt talk about this now, Olive* Tess suggested, seeing Barrys worried and stressed out face in the rearview mirror.



*Okay, were home... Ill keep you guys posted for updates of whats going on, dont stay up to late, try to go to sleep* Ben instructed everyone when he pulled into the driveway. *I... Im gonna try to figure out whats going on. Behave please* Ben said, getting out of the truck.

Renae shivered again. "Does he actually think any of us are going to sleep tonight? I know I won't... In fact, I might never sleep well again."

*He clearly hasnt seen what we did* Tess said, getting out of the car. *I, for one, envy him... I really wish I could unsee that* She said with a shudder.

*Honestly... after today, Im surprised Im even standing* Oliver said. *Im gonna borrow some clothes, and go straight to bed, seeya guys in barrys room... or not, Im probably gonna collapse as soon as I hit the bed* Oliver said, going inside.

*Use your own clothes,Oliver, you guys leave enough stuff here to warrant you all getting your own closets* Barry sighed, chuckling at his own joke.

"The kiloer probably came back." , She whispered to Oliver, her voice actually had a lot of emotion in it. Dahlia wanted to cheer Barry up, she hated it when her loved ones are upset. She stared out of the window until it was time to get out.

"Don't worry, Ben, I'll make sure they get to bed." , She smiled, putting a hand on Barry's shoulder. Dahlia pulled her bike out of the truck bed, stumbling a little when she received the heavy object.
