I mean, we'd be in different timezones regardless of using discord or not, I'm ready to start whenever

though I think we should have some sort of established system to no one gets left behind, like a post/ping order, or everyone has to respond to a certain thing before people can post again

agreed. I just assigned each of you a number, and thats the order in which you an respond and we can go from there (obviously this will change when in combat or if two characters are specifically interacting but unless I say otherwise this is the order)

Druid your first

Then Freki

Then Ivy

I'll start to set the scene

You are all currently living on the Folivora island, home to the Folivora royal family, the dominant power in the east. You were told by a mysterious stranger to meet you at a local bar not far from here, you had decided to show up to see what it was all about as you had been told it would be important and well-paying for you.

The bar itself is pretty run down and seedy, there are five or four other people there not including the bartender. You see the man who had called you here sitting in a table in the back, he's drinking out of a large wooden iron braced cup, and is still wearing a cloak so you cannot see his face or physical features.

I look at the man, highly suspicious, but a curious soul, I walk over to the table, taking the seat across from him, sitting with my hands folded on the table. I look around carefully, examining the other people, seeing who may or may not try to attack me

(Should we ping everyone? I did it just in case.)

Ea cautiously walks up to the man, eyeing him mistrustfully.

Could I make a perception check to see if there is anything fishy about him, or to see if he has anything on him?

(I was also wondering how we were going to do ability checks/other things like that, are we going to wait until it is our turn again, or is it going to be in the middle, or what?)

(if you want a check just say so and I'll do it right away you'll get your info but you won't be able to act on it tunil your next turn)

Alright for this I 'd say make an insight check and add your mod

Velos walked in and over to the man on the table, putting the mask further up his face to conceal his nose, long blue ponytail swinging behind him as he lent against the corner of a wall, listening in. He had little interest in the others, wanting to know what was so important and how much time it would take: he would not be wasting much time if he could help it.

The looked over the other two people who had been summoned; how strange. Propping his leg up against the wall, he fiddling with the black choker around his neck, not saying a word as he inspected them. Two faces hidden. One suspiciously looking at them. This group was not trusting, nor to be trusted, if his wisdom told him anything.

Rue

Seeing other people arrive, I become increasingly suspicious.

"What business did you call me here for?" I ask the man I'm sitting across from, my vision glancing between the person leaning against the wall and the other at the table from behind my expressionless wooden mask. I re-position myself so that I have one hand on the table, the other at my side, preparing to grab my weapon in case of attack

Insight check: 11+1=12

Ea noticed the two people next to the man, she narrows her eyes, looking at the two of them suspiciously. When the elf talked, she realized that they were probably called here too. Ea decided not to sit, and instead fiddled with her dagger, trying to mask her nervousness.

Druid, you notice that the man seems nervous, but he's hard to read, you do get a distinct impression that he hasn't brought you here to hurt you though.

Freki same to you except you don't notice his nervousness.

The man finally speaks, he has a thick slurred voice, but you can understand most of what he says "I'm glad you could all make it. I'm sure you are wondering why I brought you all here. that's because I have heard of you or your talents and need your help. Of course you must be asking yourselves who I am and all of that will be answered in good time. Just remember that if you choose to stay we can offer you protection, gold, revenge, whatever it is you desire." He motiones for you all to sit down in the booth.
