Why are the citizens of the mushroom kingdom all, well, mushrooms and yet their ruler is a human? Is there some sort of past where the kingdom was ruled by a mushroom leader and humans overtook the throne?

If humans did overtake the rather squishy Mushroom throne, where are the rest of them? (Don't say New Donk City.)
And why are the Goombas (Which are apperantly Mushroom Kingdom citizens) working for the Koopa Kingdom? They don't seem to be slaves or anything. Were the two Kingdoms one at some point?
Why doesn't Peach take a self defense class? Or establish a royal guard or army?

2) they're probably corrupted good mushrooms (Y'know, like that one wizard turtle who's name I don't remember) probably used magic and they just sorta happened.
3) In her defense, Bowser dies at the end of like every game, he's dumped into lava most times, sometimes he'll come back just as a skeleton, and is presumed dead until he SOMEHOW comes back again

1) I'm not sure how I'm supposed to respond to that.
2) The wizard turtle is a Magikoopa named Kemek or something like that.
3) How does the guy come back every other week? And wouldn't Peach learn her lesson after the umpteenth time?

well, the goombas could be defectives of the mushroom kingdom
maybe there was some segergation or prejudice of toads and goombas

Only watched a few of those videos...I agree with the Legend of Zelda hook shot one. And the moon. The weather on in breath of the wild was amazing
