Robyn still shook slightly at the sight of a bandage. She slumped down to the ground, cowering.

Seeing the person crouched on the floor, against my better judgement, I walk over to them and ask,
"Afraid of blood?"

She peeked out from the hands that covered her face, both her eyes showing. The blind one was similar to the one on the right, just slightly glassy. "No," she managed to whisper. "But you're close. Injury is what scares me."

"Ah, I see. It's not that bad, one of my- I mean, my knife stabbed me a little bit as I went to sit down." Almost lost your cover. Careful, Aki.

She just watched him silently, then blurted out. "Don't touch me. It won't end well. For me, I mean."

"Of course."
I don't know what's up with this girl, but I already respect her. She has obviously earned her way through fights, if the dead eye is anything to go by. I won't really be wanting to touch anyone, especially with my scales. They'd find out, even if they were just feeling how hard my muscles are after years of fending for myself.

"Good," she nodded slightly, relieved. He dark hair hid her left eye again as she rested her head on her elbows, pulling her knees closer.

I rest my head against the wall as the pain fades in my leg. I can practically feel the new scales growing on me and it itches, so I casually pull up my sleeve to scratch at them as I sit down. I then remember that I don't want people to know about them, but it's too late. A glint of light is captured in one of my black scales, and it gathers the light, capturing it in a little ball of light within the scale. The itching immediately goes away. I sigh a little bit, and pull my sleeve back up. It's too late now, she's probably seen the scales. God, I'm bad at this.

She had spotted them, in fact, and her eyes grew wide. Other than that, she gave no indication that she had seen them. Robyn just watched him, wide eyed.

I notice her eyes widen, and I know she's spotted them.
"They're not too noticeable except for the light stealing thing, right?" I say, completely forgetting my barriers when it comes to talking about myself. Which is to say, I don't do it.
