I have no idea which show you're talking about(maybe American horror stories) but here is what I think. Due to the wings on its back being dragon like(or all bony), it gives the image of a wendigo, a creature who represents famine in native American lore. As for the winter, I'm thinking because of the colors and some of the lore

Because Wendigo Winter has colors like snow and because of the monster like wings and scales?

For the "windigo winter" well the windigo is a monster. A monster told from native Americans. And the winter part. Well that was the colors.
It's from super natural!
Or the actual wendigo movie.
