"You could try tempting him with a pokepuff. Here, I think I've got one in here!" she said, digging through her backpack, finally pulling out a Tamato berry pokepuff. Charmander's eyes widened. Alex handed her the small pastry.

Charmander ate it and happily used Ember on the Sewaddle. It was a one hit KO. "Good job Charmander!" Ashley praised. Charmander just looked at her and blinked.

"Well... We're getting somewhere!" Alex said brightly.

"Yeah, I guess we are!" Ashley said.

"Let's head towards Santalune, we should get there by dark." Alex said.
Suddenly, someone came running up behind them.
"ALEX!!!!" Professor Sycamore yelled. "You forgot your lunch!!!"
Alex rolled her eyes. "Dad! How 'bout you just come with us, 'cos I've got a feeling we'll be seeing you a lot more than what's necessary anyways!" she said.
"Tres bien!" the Professor said. "Let's go!" he walked ahead of them through the trees.
"I'm only letting him come because he's a better cook than me." Alex whispered to Ashley.

Ashley laughed quietly. "That's a good reason," "Cha-char!" Charmander chimed in.

"He's pretty cool, but he's very overprotective. Drives me nuts." Alex said. Espurr nodded earnestly. "He also can't roller-skate."
