First, thank you for hosting this MourningLily, and I hope your holiday season was wonderful!

~~~
3. Post a short paragraph about something amazing that you did for someone else OR that someone did for you - during the winter holiday season.
~~~

During the past two years, I have gotten very involved in my church Christmas choir, and while I have had some vocal training and work in choirs at college, many of the people in the choir have not. So they asked me to help them as I could, and after a lot of practice and encouragement, we moved from having to use a backup CD with the demonstration vocals, to me finally being able to play the piano accompaniment and them sing along without any help at all!

The biggest blessing in this is the self-confidence they have gained, and the blessing they are to the congregation, in spreading Christmas love and cheer.

So I suppose this was both an amazing thing done for them, but mostly I feel especially blessed to be a part of this church and this choir and to know that, even in my own small way, I can help and be useful.

3. The winter holidays can get really chilly. So me and my mom all year round made hats on a loom *were making about 10 a week*. We also shouted out for other people to help us make hats.

When November came around we had around 600 hats to donate. But, hats are nice, but wouldn't it be better to make them like a stocking. Next my mom and I started gathering supplies to fill them with. Everything we could think of, lotion, socks, gloves, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, toothbrush, floss, toothpaste.

Except, filling 600 hats was going to be hard. We decided to use social media. Lots of hits there!. We ended up filling every hat to the brim. It went to show me how much I have, and how lucky I am. I have clothes, a house, a coat, food, a bed. :)

That short story become big really fast.

this christmas, my boyfriend proposed to me! i know it isn't anything to different, most people do it at some point in their life, but i suffer from major depression and my lovely boyfriend of many years has always kept me from doing anything bad. but when he proposed, it totally changed that. i no longer feel like the world is ending around me. and i think thats the greatest gift someone could ever manage to give. love and happiness. :)

A Christmas Poem:

Reindeer hooked up to the slay,
Christmas getting closer day by day.
Pine trees being chopped,
X-mas wont be stopped
Santa might come, he may.

Carollers singing at the door,
Can you hear jingling on the moor?
every boy and girl go up to bed
parents follow to rest their head
Christmas presents lay on the floor.

Santa, with a hohoho
and away we go!
Santa races off into the night,
Then the sun rises, oh so bright
Kids run down and exclaim WOA

This is Crumble Berry, my most handsome Blueberry Crumble Griffi. Why is he my favorite? Because for one, I <3 blueberry crumble. Also, he was very hard to make, because EVERYONE was looking for blueberries, and they were 100k a piece. So in a way, I'm proud I was able to make him. Also, I like his traits. He is so handsome :3

His name is Christmas, because when I first saw him that's what I thought of. When I found him during a winter fest a few years ago, I was still a newbie, and was really excited to have caught a blue-star Griffi. Since then, he's been in my party and I still love him as much as I did then. He's not even themed, but he's very special to me. He was just a wild Griffi, but I was delighted that he had a vis, and that his colors matched a theme (specifically, Christmas) so well.
I mean, look at him. Red and green, and blue (for ice) and grey (for a cold winter).
And then the costume came out, and the first pet I thought to put is on was this big guy.
Now he's even more Christmasy!

Wow MourningLily, this is a very generous giveaway! Thank you for hosting it and please find my entry below.

1. Post an image of your fave winter holiday themed sylesti that you own and a small paragraph telling me why it's your favorite.

Calais - a.k.a. the first Luffox I ever loved

Calais holds a very special place in my heart because he taught me to appreciate a species of Sylesti that I previously had a visceral dislike for. If you were to go back prior to Winter Fest 2014 and ask past-me which species was my least favourite, I would have answered "Luffox" without a seconds hesitation. I would have told you I hated them, found them obnoxious looking, and didn't understand why they were so popular. That all changed when I caught Calais. I had seen the Moonlight Luffox theme and thought it was reasonably nice looking, and when the Snowflake Wings were announced on the New Mutations thread (displayed on a Moonlight Luffox) I thought they were the nicest mutation for Luffs and wished that another species had got them. I ran across Calais in the fest zone and captured him with the intent to sell. But his circuit runes and sweet eyes grew on me so much that I ended up using a greater mutator on him to add Snowflake Wings, and he became one of my favourite captured pets of all time. He's now a permanent part of my mission pet roster and I still love him more than a year later. Since capturing him, I've learned to appreciate the charms of Luffoxes in general, and feel like a better Sylestian citizen for it.

Edit: I wrote too many paragraphs. x:
But in summary, I was spending the holidays alone, and my sis and in-laws welcomed me to spend Xmas day with them.

This winter, I'm staying by myself at my university dorm, and not with family. My mom and dad went to the Philippines for several reunion-type things, but they wouldn't be back until school started, so I told em I would stay at my dorm, because I'd rather stay there for no extra cost as opposed to paying a relative for staying with them. (my parents believe in giving money to relatives for doing favors like that)

For Christmas day, my sister reached out to me a few days before, asking what I was doing. I told her nothing, other than worrying about what to eat because everything on campus is closed lol. She told me she'd pick me up for Christmas in the morning with her in-laws, to which I said sure. But I was pretty hesitant about it, because I was going through some stuff that made me uncomfortable with talking to any relative.

The night before Christmas, I told my sister I didn't want to go anymore. She told me "no, that's rude, I'll pick you up and that's that." I felt pretty bad about it and I dreaded it, because I didn't want my in-laws talking to me about my problems (asking how I'm doing in school, etc).

But in the end, I ended up having a nice Christmas breakfast with my sister and the in-laws. And despite me not getting anyone presents, they bought me presents. I forgot how nice Christmas presents were like because my parents don't do anything special aside from a dinner, but it was really nice of my in-laws and my sister to make me feel welcome and get me gifts at the last minute, without asking me about my life and letting me be as shy as I wanted to be. I didn't voice how thankful I really was... But I want to come back next year and show it.

Favorite Winter Holiday Sylesti
Blueberry Crumble Griffi 2014

I love this lad so much for a lot of different reasons. For starters, the hunt for the blueberries was enough of a headache alone. I spent about three days collecting nothing but blueberries upon blueberries... And last year's count for ingredients wasn't nearly as bad as it is this year! It really was a challenge to try to gather up everything - but my friends helped me along the way & encouraged me (even when I was at the point where I wanted to give up because I felt like I never was going to get it). But now I have a handsome lad to make up for the stress I went through & a memory of how much my friends pushed me to continue working hard.
