The man seemed a bit offended at the accusation of robbery, his expression shifting to confusion as you began talking about gible and veilstone university. He stood in a quiet confusion for a moment before he finally spoke. The bulbasaur smiled happily as you booped its nose, running happy circles around you.

"Ah- uh, we're some ways out from Castella village in the Tao region..." He finally answered. "I'm afraid I'm not familiar with... veilstone university? I'm from the Galar region, and there aren't universities in this land, we haven't been settled here for very long and... sorry, I'm rambling, I've forgotten my manners, what's your name, and where did you say you were from again?" He asked, quickly recomposing himself

"That depends on what that means--I did mention I live in Veilstone, right? Well, technically I grew up in Canalave City, you know, all the way on the other side of Sinnoh. Nice place, but I gotta say, I wish it had a game corner too..."

They give the man a weird look at his own introduction. "What's a Tao region? I know I didn't pay much attention in geography class, but I didn't think I lived under that large of a rock." They squint up at him, dubiousness evident in their voice. "Are you messing with me? And wherever this actually is, is my wallet around here too?"

[OPEN 1/3]

It was just another day in your modern life.

You were sitting in history class, absentmindedly listening to the lecture about the ancient Unova region. There was a war between people and Pokmon, then two princes who fought against each other with their truths and ideals, a Pokmon split in two, some disaster struck. Theres going to be a test on this next week. You go through the rest of a mostly uneventful day before returning home and going to bed.

That night in your sleep, you found yourself floating in a void, and a glowing creature unlike anything youve seen before appeared before you, shrouded in light.

Human of the present day. I seeketh one from modern days of harmony between mankind and Pokmon. You must teacheth the settlers of ancient lands the way of unity to saveth the future of Unova

Something from near you floated towards the glowing figure. Your phone. All you could do was watch as your phone disappeared in a flash of light in front of you. You barely even had time to react before the pokemons eyes were on you.

Then everything faded to black again. You could hear something now- noises of Pokmon and nature all around you. Your eyes open and you find a bulbasaur, litten, and mudkip investigating you, and you hear a voice shouting in the distance.

So, what now?

May I join?

(Awesome! i always feel so guilty whenever i just vanish for months at a time >~<)

"I'm... afraid I've never heard of those cities... or Sinnoh" He sighed. "My name is professor Wisteria, the lead professor in pokemon studies in the Tao region" He introduced himself politely. "The Tao region is where we are now, we haven't been settled here very long, it's newly discovered region..." Wisteria explained. "I truly assure you, I'm not messing with you, I have no reason to do that... and no, I haven't seen your wallet"

Glancing down to the pokemon at his side, Wisteria had a thoughtful look on his face. "Hmm, perhaps... yes, I'll show you- most people think pokemon are just mindless, uncontrollable beasts, but I've seen people and pokemon work side by side, so behold, the power of people and pokemon working together" Wisteria smiled, clearing his throat.

"Go, Pokemon, go located the 'wallet'!" He raises a hand to command the pokemon. The Bulbasaur, Litten, and Mudkip continue just lounging around the clearing, paying no mind to the professor. "Oh come on you three... I'm trying to prove a point..."

(no worries I'm guilty of that too haha)

They squint. "You've never heard of Sinnoh? And I feel like I'd have at least heard about some new region being discovered, too."
Unfortunately, the professor's logic is fair enough--seeing as they don't even know him, it doesn't make sense for this to be some bizarre prank. It also doesn't explain how he would have somehow hauled them all the way out of the city for it, either. Are they still dreaming? The chilly night air and the grass prickling at their ankles sure doesn't feel like it. Just for good measure, they smack themself in the face several more times. Nope, still here.

The second possibility they consider is that they have magically ended up in another universe. Which would be very convenient, considering their exam next week, except that it's not feasibly possible. Unless...what had that weird voice earlier mentioned? Something modern days, ancient land, saveth Unova? Well, wrong region on both accounts. But the part about the ancient land...

They look up midway through their train of thought, briefly distracted by the professor's attempt to locate their wallet. "Er, well, yeah, don't loads of people and Pokemon work side by side? Isn't that the whole idea of being a trainer? And, y'know, jobs like the Machop I think they've got helping out in the mines..."
Well, the professor probably hasn't heard of the Oreburgh mines, either, but it's not exactly a revolutionary idea. Not to mention that they've heard their grandfather and just about every other trainer they've met go on about the importance of Pokemon and teamwork at some point. "I mean, these three just seem a little playful. How long have you trained them for? Surely they can't be as stubborn as some Dragon-types I've seen. Like, when those get distracted, you can say goodbye to your house."
They turn to wave over at the Bulbasaur, which seems to be the friendliest of the three. "Hey, what're their names?"

"Well, I'm not sure if I'd say I've been... training them, per se" Wisteria admitted. "Mostly studying behaviors and the like... I don't think I'm nearly well equipped enough to handle a dragon type" He laughed lightly. Turning his attention to the three pokemon around him.

"This green-blue one here is Bulbasaur, he's a grass and poison type... this blue one with the orange cheeks is called mudkip, he's a water type, and this black and red one is Litten, a fire type" he introduced the three pokemon.

The bulbasaur you waved to smiled and mimicked your wave with one of the vines sprouting from the bulb on its back, making a noise of amusement at you
