"Cygnus Fleet to All Fleets. Detecting unidentified small ship on allied planet Earth, alone, approximating 15 or so passengers. Unidentified technological signal consistently emitting from ship. We are going in for a closer look after executing Operation Hummingbird."

He walks into the room and sighs. Well, here goes nothing. "Quwala. Mind if I-"

Quwala

She spun around.
"Vyrhys, I know why you're here, just get it over with." She said, tearfully.

He doesn't quite know what to say. He still loves Quwala, and he still thinks she's beautiful with or without her burns. But he feels immensely guilty for not stopping the whole situation from happening, and worries he's not worth her love if he can't protect her. "Q-quwala." He stammers. He's already feeling weak, and for a split second he feels like he might pass out again (which would be incredibly smooth, lol). "I.... I feel responsible for this. I.... hope you're not hurt, and you don't hate me for not doing something in time." Vyrhys musters all his courage. "But just know..... you are still just as beautiful and just as wonderful as the day I met you, and I will always love you with my whole heart. Even if you despise me now." He stands there behind her, waiting for her to strike him or scream at him to get out.
(every time I think of someone with burn scars I think of Zuko from AtLA... so um, Quwala is Zuko now XD)

"Hell yeah!" Vyrhys says indignantly. "What kind of shallow fool did you think I am? A couple scars never changed a thing. If anything, it proves you're even more of a bad@$$ girlfriend than a guy like me would ever deserve." He smiles softly. "To be honest with you, I was born with a deformity. A twisted horn to be specific. Got it fixed when I was 200 or so years old, but for a long time people still remembered me as the kid with the birth defect. But people were willing to look over that when I became High Engineer, because I proved I was more than just appearances. And Quwala, you are so much more than just a pretty face."

She just hugged him, and didn't say anything. The hug said enough.

A bang. A flash. Applause over his comm lines. Torion smiles; another job well done. "Cygnus Fleet to All Fleets. Operation Hummingbird, status: success. We are returning to the site of the unidentified craft we spotted earlier, commencing scout mission. Godspeed all." He turns off his communicator and turns his ship back towards the starship they spotted earlier. "Let's hope I'm not going crazy," He mutters under his breath.
