"Supposedly there was some kind of waste dumped into some sewers that carried the disease in it. Rats drank the waste contaminated sewer water and got infected. Some of the rats were aggressive and would bite people. Turns out the disease was transmitted like a cold. Coughing, kissing, sneezing, etc. So it spread like wildfire. At first no one showed any signs of sickness, then people suddenly started dropping like flies. Just out of the blue. When everyone and think infected by it died, so did the disease. Now it's safe to enter Autumn City. No one is sure about who dumped the plauged waste in the sewers, but they're probably dead too. Yeah, Autumn City has been abandoned. Everyone is afraid to move there still in fear that the disease will return."
