Cinder tried to remember Haze. He finally remembered something. But it wasn't a pleasant memory.

"What is it?!" A black tom hissed. "You look like you hate me!"
"Listen, Nighthawk." Haze looked at the black Tom with menacing blue eyes. "Aren't you supposed to be strong?! Then why is YOUR kit so weak and small? All he wants to do is play!"
"Kits are like this!" Nighthawk growled.
"The is no room for playtime in BloodClan." Haze hissed. "Dusk and Rat were weak. That's why they died. I even killed their father."
"You killed their father?" Nighthawk was surprised.
"Yes." Haze growled. "But Silver escaped. And only Smoky is loyal and dedicated to BloodClan."
"What am I supposed to do?" Nighthawk asked.
"Abandon this kit." Haze responded angrily. "He will never be strong."

Cinder began shivering. Featherpaw noticed this and tried to comfort him. "I don't want to remember anymore." Cinder whined.

Longfur shot his father a dark glare and lead Cinder to the medicine den.

Flower and Rain left the Den. Cinder quickly ran toward them. "Cinder! Your terrified!" Flower meowed, concerned.
"Please." He said scared. "Please fight. Please stay in ShadowClan. Just in case she comes."
Flower didn't quite know who "she" was, but she understood. "Okay Cinder. I will fight if she comes."

Longfur took Flower aside for a moment and explained what had happened.
(Wait. Cinder's father was Nightpelt? There will be a reckoning when this gets out...)

Flower listens to Longfur. Rain tries to comfort Cinder.

(Yeah. I had a moment.)
Terror is somehow able to lift her large frame off the ground and says, "Having BloodClan parents is nothing to be ashamed of. Look at Shadowstar. Look at me. We were both full BloodClan. We accompanied Scourge into the forest. And yet, we were allowed to join ShadowClan. We fought to be accepted. And look where we are now. Our son is the Medicine Cat. Shadowstar is the leader. And while I'm not the deputy, I am more loyal to this Clan than some of those born here."
She speaks in her usual, gruff rasp, but there's a warmth behind it-one most never hear.

"We were rogues, Cinder!" Rain happily said. "Look t us now! We have lots of cats that can feed us! We'll eventually have cats who will train us to fight!"
"Yeah." Cinder said sadly. "I guess."

Longfur says, "And you will eventually train cats to fight and hunt yourselves."

"Isn't it great?" Rain mewed.
"But she wants to kill me." Cinder said.
"There will be lots of cats who will protect you." Flower said.

Longfur purred, "Shadowstar is watching out for you. Stay near him any you will be safe".
