Knuckles walked up to one of the many crates along the wall in the control room and pushed it out into the middle of the floor. He pryed it open and pulled out a black binder, flipped through it, nodded, and set it aside along with a beat-up journal and a pen. He glanced in the direction he knew Shadow was in before moving the crate back to it's original place.
Sonic flashed a trademark smirk. "Where did you disappear to?"

Knuckles didn't look at him. "No," He replied. "And if I were, you wouldn't be able to read it," He picked up the binder and journal, grabbed a pen (Clicking it a few times, because why not?), and trotted out of the room.

Knuckles flipped open the journal, muttering to himslef as he did. Most of the pages were already written in, but the handwriting itself varied from page to page, sometimes in glyps, rushed print, or neat cursive. He flipped through for about ten minutes before growling in annoyanace and slamming it shut. "What was that fox doing for those six months?!" He exclaimed, standing up. "And why couldn't I go after him?!" He sighed and stormed out of the room.
