"Fudge." I curse slightly, trying to pull the leeches off.

They fall off when they finish gorging themselves. Something rustles in the tall grass.

I turn to the rustling, ready to protect myself if needs be. I put down my guard slightly, remembering that Sal didn't have visitors often, and I didn't want to startle or scare the Salamander-form the Queen needed.

"What brings you here, little snake." The voice seems to be coming from everywhere.

"My Queen brings me here. To get Sal the Salamander-form. The Queen needs the Salamander-form's assistance." I relay the message, deciding to just focus on one area and not confuse myself with the noise coming from everywhere.

"Now why would she be looking for me? Why would she need me?" The voice asked.

She walks briskly to the Great Hall, glancing around the room as she enters.

The Queen calls for someone called Evelyn and tells her something. When the Siren leaves, the Queen turns back to the front of the hall. "Could Winter please come up!" She calls.
