Ashes looked down at his feet, looking miserable. "I-I-I'm sorry." he whispered, and was actually quiet for a minute without holding his breath.
Ariel stepped between the two. "Guys, let's lighten up a bit. No need to get in more trouble."
Conner was silent, watching.

"Whats next? Pitchforks and torches? I'm not exactly a fan of the idea of being burned and poked to death. People might turn on me just because I'm a fallen angel, not a normal one. This is just wonderful," he said sarcastically, not noticing that Ashes was being quiet

Ashes felt really bad about being himself, so he slid down the wall until he was sitting down, knees drawn up to his chest as if being small would help. He was still being quiet.
"Maybe not pitch forks. And being Fallen or just an Angel doesn't matter. What matters is what is in here." Ariel said, and placed a hand on Ash's chest. To calm him and make a point.

Ash felt his heart revs, and he hated himself for that. He made sure that his face was emotionless as he moved her hand off him. He turned away. "Maybe not right now, but how much longer will the peace last?"

Ashes was quiet. "Well, I will try my hardest to not tell. I promise."
Conner snarled, and grabbed the front of Ashes shirt. "Trying and silly human promises won't be enough." He growled. Ariel had to wrestle him away before Conner gave up the intimidating act.
"Guys, please be reasonable." She pleaded.

Ash had fallen silent. After Ariel had wrestled Conner away he said flatly, " you said you don't know what you're going to say, so you can't promise that anyway." His back was still to them

Ashes stood up. "Well, I could try, at least, to keep myself in check. Unlike some others." He said, and gave a pointed look at Conner, who was silently fuming.
Ariel was between the boys - as in all three - to make sure they didn't suddenly lash out at another, and start another fight.

Ash just shook his head. "Humans try a lot of things. That doesn't mean they will succeed. Humans promise a lot of things, but that doesn't mean they will keep their promises. You don't want to trust anybody. Trust is a very fragile thing. You don't want to get attached because..." his voice falters. "Because you just get hurt." He was obviously talking from experience.

Ashes gaze hardened. "So, you think because I talk all the time and I act happy I don't know that from experience either?" He said.
Ariel looked at him, and whispered, "Please, don't start it."
But the spark had found some kindling.
Conner glared at Ashes. "And it's because you're human that you will probably never understand the life of a Fallen or an Angel."
Ariel mutters something to Conner that doesn't sound that nice. "Conner. Quit it." She said louder this time.

"Just because we have different ways of dealing with...problems and struggles doesn't mean jack. You're human and we're angels. Vastly different. You might not understand a lot of things. "
