Both Conner and Ariel turned to the noise to find Ashes standing in the door way. "Oh, was I not supposed to hear that?" He looked completely innocent, and the siblings try to wonder if he really is or not.

Ash looks between them. He was tense. If Ashes knew something, surely the whole school would hear about it before it was time to go home. "Yeah, how did you know about that?" He was obviously distracted by something

"So..." Ashes said in a small voice. "Angels are real."

Ashes grew quiet, listening to everything. "If Angels are real, then demons are real, and then Valkyries and Reapers took my mom."
Conner shook his head in one short movement. "Sorry," he said in an obviously not sorry voice. His wings were out at the moment, and he stretched them once to get them to not fall asleep.

He shoved Ashes away. "Great. Now the whole school will know. Let's just hope they don't believe what you say..." The chances of that were slim to none since Ashes usually spouted facts.
