A deep growl sounded from Ruumbo's throat as he glared at Naelan, his shadowy tail lashing angrily. "I would rather die than submit to someone like you. You know I will never stop until I get what I want. What I desire is a bit of a..." he glared back at Flux and Noriku, his tone of voice a bit more threatening and dangerous. His head nearly turned all the way around. "Companionship, if you will." He approached the two of them slowly and menacingly.
"And if you think that I'm afraid of you, well you're dead wrong. Keep in mind that I am older and more experienced than the two of you combined and that I could kill you both in one sweep of a paw if I wanted to." He said this in a passive-aggressive way. He looked at Noriku, "And I know exactly what normal wolves are made of. Soft flesh and weak bone. Blood and organs all smushed together, swishing around as you run around. And I know that your body is trembling with fear. I know that you're afraid, it's not that hard to see. And if you want me to make you join me, well..." He growled, opening his mouth wide to show off his sharp rows of fangs and teeth, "That can be arranged."

Noriku jumped back and his eyes widened with terror. He looked to the glowing wolf with a pleading stare. He turned back to the shadow wolf and slowly backed away, then hiding behind the glowing wolf's legs and tail. He shook uncontrollably.

"It's okay, little one. I will protect you," Naelan said gently. Looking up at Ruumbo, she said, "Vacate this island immediately if you want to remain intact. Otherwise..."
At the tip of Naelan's tail, a ball of pure light energy formed, which she flung into Ruumbo's tail, making the shadow disipate and dissolve.

Flux looked over at the place where Ruumbo had disappeared, then turned to look at the wolf. She had only heard about these wolves in legends and fairy tales, and had never though that they were real. She slipped into darkness, worried that he might do that same thing to her as he did to Ruumbo. Before any could notice, she walked through a shadow and ran away.
