Before you get to him, he suddenly emerges from the water, unconscious, with a creature pulling him through the water. After a better look, you find a serpent pulling him through the water. You have no idea if it is friend or foe, but by the looks of things, probably the latter!

What do you do?

It hopped up out of the water. Its fish tail turned into regular legs and hooves, but it was still small.
