Hours passed as Sonic sat in the medical ward, mentally demanding the echidna to at the very least give him some sort of sign. After about ten more minutes of this, Sonic was about to leave the room when a soft moan caught his ear.

Knuckles eyed Pearl a moment before letting his head fall back to the matress. "How long was I out?" he inquired.
Sonic looked at the ceiling. "Eh, Id say 3, almost four hours. How'd you end up like that anyway?"
"Well, I was fightin', then Nortlu chickened out, so I started to head back to the jet... Everything after that is pretty fuzzy..." The echidna explained, sounding rather annoyed.
Rookie ran blindly as fast and as far as his legs would take him. The clicking soon subsided, and only then did he dare slow to a halt. Gasping for breath and heart pounding, he looked around nervously and realized Amy was no longer nearby, and he couldn't tell where he was. At least the killer crab was gone... He guessed It was Infinite again.
