Shade rolls his eyes. "Explain what you humans call funny,because I don't understand it."

"I can't explain that because each human would describe funny a little bit different. Different types of humor or whatever. It's really whatever you prefer and what you think as silly. I think. I'm not sure." Riley shakes his head. He understood humans about as much as Shade.

Shade doesn't say a thing,his tail just thumps the bed a few times. It was fairly long,maybe a little longer than half his own height. His wings a good amount taller than his head starting a little below his waist. The joints attached to his shoulder blades.

"You can stop calling me Mr. Jack. Jack is fine. And I've been in here for five years. I'm lucky to have stayed alive for this long. Most kids here don't last much longer than a few months."
