"Give Ali a chance. She never told you why she doesn't trust anyone did she?"

He shook his head.

"I know most of it. Ali had a friend which she had for years. Her friend was also a foster kid one who I have met a few times. Ali had worked odd jobs and saved for years but unknown to her Ali's friend had access to that money somehow. On the day Ali was suppose to be adopted Ali's friend not only stole the money but Ali's chance at adoption. When Ali confronted her her friend flat out told her that Ali was nothing and a few worse thngs. When Ali went to the police they said she was lying since her friend had gone to them first and convincingly told them it was just a petty fight and Ali just wanted to get her in trouble. Ali hasn't trusted anyone truly since then. That was almost seven years ago to yesterday."
