The Legends
Yes, I'm dumping this here because I did a terrible job explaining it in the first post and
What - or who - are the Legends?
They are the famous heroes and villains of yore that all people have heard of, but in the here and now, all with a certain aspect of mystery that makes them appear so... legendary. Stories and rumors are told of them, such that it is impossible to separate fact from fiction. Some are seen frequently if not fleetingly, while others are so rarely sighted that it's questionable whether they exist at all. They walk the fine line between myth and celebrity, doing things normal people only dream of. They take advantage of all the opportunity in this universe and people admire them for it.
There isn't a specific name for what makes them so amazing, and they aren't connected in any way or are they. Warriors and adventurers, mages and masterminds. Some were destined to be great from birth, some took an opportunity, others victims of fate.
Their names are known throughout the universe for their extraordinary deeds, some as warnings to keep children in bed, others as wondrous tales children beg to hear. They may be famous, but they are also mysterious. Very few people know anything other than their reputation. Many of the Legends' names aren't even known, but the people have names of their own for them. Of course, that doesn't stop people from trying to chase them, but few ever succeed. There is, in fact, an 'organization' of sorts dedicated to finding out all they can about Legends.
Anyways, the Legends play a big part in the lives of the people in this world. People look up to and are in awe of them, a little more than celebrities, a little less than gods to 'average' people.
One thing is certain: for as long as the Great Beyond exists, there will be Legends.
(Okay, so I know that explanation was kinda confusing. Basically think of those heroes/villains/whatevers in stories, such as Hercules. Now imagine there are like 50 of those who actually exist, and they're known for various cool things such as dark magic, slaying dragons, eating naughty children, etc. and boom those are the Legends. No one knows whether they really eat children or if that's just a rumor - although rumors are based in truth - but people know they probably exist. PM me if you need clarification xD) |
