I fully agree design theft is a huge problem that needs a working solution. One solution might be (many other design contests do this already) PMing the desgin/s to the person who hosts the design contest. Another for the design generator is and this has already been mentioned multipul times timestamps such as with photos people take to have proof of photo taken. There are problems with this as well but the suggestion of writing over the design or being able to sign the design is one that would help deter design thieves.

I agree with this. If someone uses someone else's work, I believe they should ask the original creator, or at the very least credit them. Stealing work is just horrible, especially if they claim it's theirs. It shows that they can't even find their own ideas, and is just disrespectful to the creator.
