She threw her arms around Ocean's neck. Jewel looked away sadly.

Jewel blinked back tears. Great, she thought. My own sister likes this dragon more than she likes me/ Jewel looked back up and said, "I'm going to practice." And she flew off.

"She's just trying to get your attention. She's always been like that," Rose told the lie without even a slight feeling of guilt.
Jewel landed and covered her eyes with her talons. When she looked up they were blue-and-red with a swirling pattern and a faint purplish glow. She roared in pain.
(Jewel was an OC who had a thing where that happened whenever her emotions were heightened)

They flew into the clearing to find Jewel passed out on the ground, her wings unfolded.
