Evan had just finished brushing Sam when Kate growled deep in her chest. He turned around, and saw a rabid coyote. Reaching toward his belt, he realized he'd left his revolver at the forge. He drew the hammer he was wearing, and threw it. His aim was dead-on, but the coyote moved. The hammer broke its back and slid across the stables. He pulled out the short eating dagger on his belt, the last thing he had that could qualify as a weapon, and strode to behind the coyote, and slashed its throat. Standing, Evan looked at the pelt, appraising its value, and figured he could bake a couple dollars off it.

Sapphire on her horse Luna she heard a deer in a trap struggling, she hopped off of Luna and took out her pocket knife. crept other to the deer "oh its a fawn not a doe or a stag." sapphire whispered in surprise she walked other and helped the fawn then whistled to galaxy, who was at the edge of the forest, galloped over and whinnied "be careful of this fawn as I'll have to look after it until its leg heals up." Sapphire leapt back on to Luna and took them to the stables and took the fawn off of galaxy "Evan can you take them to the stables please. I'll take this animal to the house to look after."

"Sure, I c'n put 'em in th' stables fer ya!" Evan said, leading Luna and Galaxy to their stalls. He put some fresh hay in their stalls as well, and closed the stalls. He put fresh hay in Sam's stall as well, and returned to his forge, where he continued working on the knife he'd begun the previous day.
