To answer the last question, I think pokemon trianing is more of a 'kids' hobby, just some adults (Gym leaders, Elietes, etc.) do it for a living, kinda like professional video game players. Also, I'm sure a few kids have been snatched up by Drifloon or something.

like kidnappers using drifloon or something
would police use a swirlipuff to find criminals like a search dog? since it apparently has the most powerful sense of smell-

Yet nidoqueen and nidoking can't breed breed with each othet
