I have a fear of pills. I can deal with other people taking pills and what not but I cannot for the life of me swallow even the tiniest pill! Is that common or is that just me?

@Celechan12,
Nah, I think that's common. I was always afraid I was gonna choke. Terrified of it.
And then I was 15, I got put on a medication that I had to take every day. Pills, of course. So I had to learn to do it.
The trick is to learn how to swallow a big gulp of water and then sort of hide the pill in it from yourself, like, don't think about it being in there.
I have almost no problem doing it now, though I hate tiny pills; I'm always afraid that somehow I didn't swallow it and then its going to dissolve in my mouth. Which isn't usually dangerous or anything but it does taste wicked gross if it happens. You can learn to do it though, to conquer that fear.
My sister also had the same problem, until she told the doctor she didn't want to take pills for something and he told her he could give it to her as a suppository instead... so she learned to swallow pills.

@Cranberry,

I have tried hiding the pill from myself and trying to swallow it. Sadly somehow my throat still constricts *Sigh*
It might have to deal with the fact that from a very young age I had to watch my grandma swallow several pills everyday and that if I had to take a pill I would become like her. I know that's not true but it's still extremely hard. I keep trying though when I have a bad enough headache though.

I am absolutely TERRIFIED of needles. If a doctor so much as even mentions the possibility of me having to get a shot or have my blood drawn, I will freak out. And the couple of times I was in the hospital and I had to have an IV put in, I started crying before the nurse even came in the room with the needle. Ugh.
The irony is that my mom is a veterinarian, and she sticks animals with needles all the time and doesn't mind at all. I don't know how I turned out like this. xD

Fears, Fears, Fears. -3-"

Well, first off, I. CAN. NOT. STAND. NEEDLES. Seriously, I have to give the horses at my workplace a good ol injection AT LEAST three times a day because a lot of them get daily meds through an injection. Well, It took me ONE YEAR before I finally managed to bring up enough courage to stick 'em. Now I just pretend I'm giving them a two fingered poke. XP

Next is, I'm not a big fan of "Modern" weapons. XP Really, I'm old fashioned in the way I love my knife! I'd much rather pick up a blade than a gun.

This next one is....RASPBERRY FUDGE. ....O^O....I'm serious. I CAN'T STAND the look, taste, TEXTURE even, of RASPBERRY FUDGE. Q-Q

I have anxiety so I think I'm naturally a fearful person. Talking with people I haven't seen for a long time or strangers can be really stressful and overwhelming. It's easier for me online but in person can be a whole other thing.

I'm extremely phobic of needles. I panic and cry. After the shot I become extremely pale and can't stand. This makes me not fond of doctors and dentists.

@Lostwords13, I actually have a fear regarding balloons as well. I thought I was the only one. Balloons themselves don't bother me though. Instead it's the act of popping a balloon. I just can't. I remember when I was a child I was invited to a birthday party where they played this game where you had to sit on the balloons to pop them. I remember breaking out in tears because I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I'm also afraid of grease splatter. I just can't cook anything with grease in it. I've kinda thought about covering myself from head to toe to protect myself from any chance of grease landing on me but I know how ridiculous I'd look and wouldn't be able to bear the teasing I'd get.

Wasps are the only insect I'm a bit fearful of. I don't think I'm phobic though. If I get stung I get jumpy for a little while but in time it seems to go away.

DARK
/hides

I sh--kid you not, when I was little I was scarred by E.T. the movie. I developed this fear of the dark and monsters and stuff, that I cannot possibly explain. ;-;

I also don't like speaking in public but I dont really know if thats considered a fear. o3o I suffer from anxiety so thats definitely related.
